How does a click pen work?
The mechanism of a click pen is a master class of engineering and simplicity in one. The mechanism involves a spring in the point, or nose, of the pen, a cam, plus the ink cartridge with a ballpoint tip. All these components are contained within the barrel of the pen. The spring provides the tension needed to retract the cartridge and the cam (or thrust device) is activated when the button is pressed, or clicked, to expose or retract the writing tip.
